Description

The Dip 10W LED recessed downlight delivers 1170 lumens of 3000K warm white light through a white aluminium bezel measuring approximately 90mm in diameter. The integrated LED sits behind a recessed cone that directs a 50° beam angle, providing general ambient lighting suitable for residential ceilings, hallways, and commercial interiors.

Designed for dry interior installation only (IP20 rating), the downlight requires a ceiling void depth of at least 80-100mm to accommodate the heat sink and driver assembly behind the bezel. The spring-loaded retention clips fix the fitting into a cut-out diameter of approximately 75-80mm, sitting flush with plasterboard or suspended ceiling tiles once installed. The 50° beam angle balances coverage and intensity, avoiding harsh spots on surfaces directly below.

The white powder-coated aluminium bezel provides a neutral finish that blends with white ceilings or contrasts cleanly against darker ceiling tones. The 90 CRI (Colour Rendering Index) rating reproduces colours more accurately than standard 80 CRI LED fittings, which matters in kitchens, bathrooms, retail spaces and anywhere colour judgement is important. The integrated driver operates on standard UK mains voltage (220-240V AC 50Hz) and the fitting is not dimmable.

Can this downlight be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting has no protection against moisture and must be installed in dry interiors only. For bathrooms, wet rooms or covered outdoor areas, use fittings rated IP44 or higher.

What ceiling void depth is needed?

A minimum void depth of 80-100mm is required behind the ceiling to accommodate the heat sink and driver assembly. The exact depth depends on the specific driver model supplied with this batch - check the fitting depth before cutting the ceiling aperture.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The LED module is integrated into the fitting and not user-replaceable. The LED has a typical lifespan of 25,000-30,000 hours (approximately 17-20 years at 4 hours per day), after which the entire fitting would need replacing.

What's the difference between 3000K and 4000K versions?

3000K produces a warm white light similar to halogen, appearing slightly yellow-toned and suited to living spaces, bedrooms and hospitality settings. 4000K produces a neutral white closer to daylight, preferred in kitchens, bathrooms, offices and task-oriented spaces.
