Description

The Dip is a 10W LED recessed downlight housed in a black aluminium body with a deep-set black baffle and a white perforated trim ring. The integrated LED delivers 1060 lumens at 3000K warm white through a 50° beam angle, providing focused ambient light without glare. The recessed format sits flush with the ceiling once installed, leaving only the trim ring visible.

Designed for residential and commercial dry interiors including living rooms, bedrooms, hallways, offices and retail spaces, the downlight requires a ceiling void depth of approximately 90-100mm for the heat sink and driver unit. The 50° beam angle suits general room illumination rather than narrow spotlighting, spreading light across a 2-3m diameter circle from a typical 2.4m ceiling height. The IP20 rating limits installation to dry indoor locations away from bathrooms and wet rooms.

The black aluminium body acts as a heat sink, dissipating the 10W thermal load without requiring active cooling. The perforated white trim ring aids ventilation while masking the cut-out edge in the ceiling. Approximately 90-100mm of void depth above the ceiling is required to accommodate the heat sink and LED driver. Measure your ceiling void before ordering to confirm compatibility.

Is this dimmable?

No, the Dip is not compatible with dimmer switches. It operates at full 10W output on standard 220-240V AC mains only.

Can this be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means this downlight is suitable only for dry indoor locations. Bathrooms and wet rooms require IP44 or higher rated fittings in zones 1 and 2.

What's the difference between 50° and narrower beam angles?

A 50° beam angle spreads light across a wider area, making it suitable for general room illumination. Narrower beam angles (e.g. 24° or 36°) concentrate light into a tighter spot, better for accent lighting or task lighting over worktops.
