Description

The Dip is a 10W LED recessed downlight with a deep-set black aluminium cone behind a perforated white bezel ring. The integrated LED produces 1060 lumens at 2700K warm white with 90 CRI colour rendering and a 50° beam angle, providing focused accent or task lighting rather than diffused ambient light. The black cone recedes into the ceiling void when viewed from an angle, reducing glare and giving a clean visual finish.

Designed for residential and commercial ceiling installations where a warmer light temperature is preferred, the downlight suits living rooms, bedrooms, hospitality spaces and retail environments that pair warm-toned interiors with directional lighting. The 50° beam provides coverage of approximately 1.2-1.5m diameter when ceiling-mounted at 2.4m height, making it suitable for general room lighting when spaced at 1.5-2m intervals or as accent lighting over feature walls, artwork and furniture.

The IP20 rating limits installation to dry indoor environments only. The downlight requires a minimum ceiling void depth of approximately 100mm to accommodate the heat sink and driver assembly visible in the image. The perforated bezel ring allows heat dissipation while maintaining a decorative appearance from below. The black finish on both bezel and cone blends into dark ceiling surfaces or provides contrast against white ceilings depending on the interior palette.

The 90 CRI rating delivers accurate colour rendering across warm tones, making this downlight suitable for spaces where textile colours, wood finishes and skin tones need to appear natural under artificial light. The non-dimmable driver runs on standard UK 230V mains without requiring additional control gear.

What ceiling void depth is required?

The downlight requires approximately 100mm minimum ceiling void depth to accommodate the heat sink assembly and driver. Check the void depth before ordering to ensure the fitting can be fully recessed.

Is this dimmable?

No. The integrated LED driver is non-dimmable. Connecting it to a dimmer circuit may cause flickering or damage to the driver.

What does 90 CRI mean?

CRI (Colour Rendering Index) measures how accurately a light source renders colours compared to natural daylight. 90 CRI is considered high quality, showing warm tones, wood finishes and textiles naturally without the colour shift common in lower-CRI LEDs.

Can this be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the downlight is not protected against moisture ingress. It must only be installed in dry indoor environments outside bathroom zones.
