Description
The Onda 12W LED recessed downlight is a cylindrical black aluminium fixture designed for direct ceiling installation, providing 12W of integrated LED output through a 120° beam angle diffuser. The downlight sits flush with the ceiling line once installed, with only the black bezel and frosted white diffuser lens visible from below. The spring clips on either side secure the fitting into a ceiling cut-out.
Designed for general room lighting in living rooms, hallways, kitchens and bedrooms, the 120° beam spread provides wide ambient coverage without hotspots directly beneath the fitting. The IP20 rating makes it suitable for standard dry indoor locations, and the black aluminium bezel integrates cleanly into both white and dark-painted ceilings. The dimmable LED works with most trailing-edge LED dimmers, allowing light output to be adjusted from full brightness down to around 10% depending on dimmer compatibility.
The 90 CRI (colour rendering index) rating means the light reproduces colours more accurately than standard 80 CRI LEDs, which is useful in spaces where colour judgment matters - kitchens, dressing areas, and rooms with art or photography on the walls. The black aluminium body dissipates heat generated by the LED driver, and the frosted diffuser lens softens the light to reduce glare when viewed from typical standing or seated positions below.

Frequently Asked
Is this downlight dimmable?
Yes. The integrated LED is dimmable and works with most trailing-edge LED dimmers. Compatibility depends on the specific dimmer model, so test with your dimmer before installing multiple units. Leading-edge dimmers designed for halogen lamps may not provide smooth dimming with LEDs.
What ceiling cut-out size is needed?
recessed downlights typically require a cut-out diameter between 90-110mm depending on the specific model trim diameter. Check the product packaging or contact us for the exact cut-out specification for this 12W model before cutting the ceiling.
What does 90 CRI mean?
CRI (colour rendering index) measures how accurately a light source reproduces colours compared to natural daylight. 90 CRI is higher than the standard 80 CRI found in most LEDs, meaning colours appear more natural and true-to-life under this downlight. This matters in kitchens, dressing rooms and spaces where you need to judge colour accurately.
Can it be used in bathrooms?
The IP20 rating means this downlight is suitable for dry indoor locations only. It is not rated for bathroom zones where water spray or steam is present. For bathrooms, look for IP44 or IP65-rated downlights designed for moisture exposure.
