Description
The Datsun armchair pairs a channelled leather cushion set with a solid oak frame, giving you a chair that feels as good as it looks. The vintage brown leather carries natural creasing and tonal variation across the surface, so each piece has its own character. Horizontal ribbing runs across the back cushion, adding structure and a mid-century feel to the deep, supportive seat.
We built the frame from oak and plywood, with sculpted armrests that taper down into angled front legs. The warm timber tone sits nicely against the tan leather, and the open sides keep the overall shape light rather than bulky. Underneath, foam and polyester fibre fill keep the seat and back comfortable for long sittings, whether you are reading, chatting or just taking a break.
At 700mm wide and 800mm tall, the Datsun works well as a single accent chair or as a pair either side of a fireplace or window. It suits a living room, study or bedroom corner, and the leather will age gently over time, deepening in tone with use.

Frequently Asked
Is the chair covered in real leather?
Yes, the seat and back cushions are upholstered in vintage brown leather, which shows natural markings and creasing as part of its finish.
What is the frame made from?
The frame is made from solid oak with plywood elements, giving it strength and a warm timber tone.
How do I care for the leather?
Wipe with a soft dry cloth to remove dust, and treat occasionally with a leather conditioner. Keep it out of direct sunlight to preserve the colour.
Will the leather change over time?
Yes, vintage leather develops a deeper tone and softer patina with use, so the chair matures with age.
Can I buy two to make a pair?
Absolutely. The Datsun works well as a matching pair either side of a sofa, fireplace or window.
