Description

The Calipso fluted cylinder ceiling light features a white aluminium body with vertical ribbing around the exterior and a recessed black-lined aperture at the base. A single GU10 bulb (sold separately) sits behind the aperture, directing light downward onto the surface below. The cylindrical housing projects approximately 120mm from the ceiling plane, with the ribbed profile adding depth and shadow to what would otherwise be a plain cylinder.

Designed for downward accent lighting in hallways, kitchens, bathrooms and commercial retail spaces, the fitting mounts directly to a standard UK ceiling rose or ceiling plate. The recessed aperture reduces glare and focuses the beam downward, making it suitable for task lighting over kitchen worktops, bathroom vanities or retail display surfaces. The IP20 rating limits use to interior dry locations only.

The white aluminium finish pairs cleanly with both contemporary white ceilings and warmer-toned interiors, while the black aperture creates a visual anchor at the base and prevents the fitting from appearing washed-out on a white ceiling. The ribbed profile catches sidelight and adds texture without dominating the space. The fitting accepts any standard GU10 LED or halogen bulb up to 10W, giving flexibility to choose the beam angle and colour temperature that suits the application.

What bulb does it take?

The fitting takes a standard GU10 bulb up to 10W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a GU10 LED between 5-7W in either warm white (2700K-3000K) or cool white (4000K) depending on the room.

Is it dimmable?

The fitting itself is not dimmable. If dimming is required, you would need to use a dimmable GU10 bulb with a compatible GU10 dimmer module, but dimmer compatibility is not guaranteed.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

The IP20 rating means this fitting is suitable for interior dry locations only. It can be used in bathrooms outside the defined IP-rated zones (typically more than 600mm from a shower or bath), but not within zones 0, 1 or 2 where water ingress is likely.

How is it fitted?

The fitting mounts directly to a standard UK ceiling rose or ceiling plate using the wiring terminal inside the cylinder body. The flared end at the top covers the ceiling aperture and the fitting is secured with screws through the mounting plate.
