Description

The Calipso is a track-mounted spotlight in white powder-coated aluminium with a cylindrical body and an adjustable head that rotates and tilts on a track adaptor. The spotlight accepts a single GU10 bulb up to 10W (sold separately) and is designed for installation on standard single-circuit track systems.

Intended for retail displays, gallery walls, kitchen worktops and corridor accent lighting, the Calipso allows light to be directed onto specific surfaces or objects after installation. The cylindrical housing features vertical ribbing that acts as passive heatsinking for the lamp, keeping the aluminium body cool to touch during extended use. The track adaptor rotates 350 degrees and the lamp head tilts approximately 90 degrees from the horizontal axis, giving wide positioning flexibility once clipped into track.

The white powder-coated aluminium finish pairs cleanly with white ceilings and contemporary interiors where visible track systems are a feature rather than something to hide. The fitting carries an IP20 rating for dry indoor use and operates on 220-240V mains at 50Hz. Non-dimmable unless paired with a dimmable GU10 LED bulb on a compatible dimmer circuit.

What track system does the Calipso fit?

The Calipso uses a standard single-circuit track adaptor compatible with most UK and European track lighting systems. The adaptor clips into the track and can be repositioned along the rail without removing power.

What GU10 bulb should I use?

The fitting accepts any GU10 bulb up to 10W. For accent lighting in retail or galleries a 6-8W LED in 3000K or 4000K works well. For kitchen task lighting over worktops a 10W 4000K daylight LED provides higher output.

Can the light direction be adjusted after installation?

Yes. The track adaptor rotates 350 degrees around the track rail and the lamp head tilts approximately 90 degrees, allowing the beam to be directed onto walls, shelves or work surfaces after the fitting is clipped into track.

Is it dimmable?

The fitting itself is non-dimmable on standard circuits. If paired with a dimmable GU10 LED bulb and installed on a compatible dimmer circuit, the output can be controlled by the dimmer.
