Description

The Yin is a surface-mounted LED ceiling spotlight with a spherical aluminium head that rotates and tilts on a cylindrical white base. The integrated 15W LED delivers 1359 lumens at 3000K through a 24° beam angle, making it a directional accent light rather than ambient room lighting. The head can be angled to highlight artwork, architectural features, or specific zones within a room.

Designed for living rooms, hallways, kitchens and retail spaces where adjustable accent lighting is needed without recessing into the ceiling structure, the spotlight mounts onto standard ceiling electrical boxes with the base housing the driver and connector block inside. The 24° beam creates a focused pool of light approximately 600mm diameter when aimed at a wall from 2m distance, widening as the distance increases. The white finish allows the fitting to blend into white ceilings or contrast against darker ceiling tones.

The aluminium construction keeps the fitting lightweight at under 400g while providing good heat dissipation for the LED. The 90 CRI rating means colours rendered under this light appear natural and accurate, which matters for artwork, fabrics and food presentation. The LED is non-dimmable and rated IP20, so the fitting is suitable for dry interior spaces only. The 3000K colour temperature provides warm white light that sits between the yellow cast of old tungsten bulbs and the cooler neutrality of 4000K commercial lighting.

Can the head be adjusted after installation?

Yes. The spherical head rotates horizontally and tilts vertically on the base, allowing you to redirect the beam once the fitting is installed and powered. This makes it suitable for accent lighting where the target changes over time.

Is this suitable for bathroom use?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting has no protection against moisture ingress. It is designed for dry interior spaces only such as living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and commercial interiors.

What's the difference between 3000K and 4000K?

3000K produces warm white light with a slight yellow tone, similar to traditional halogen. 4000K is neutral white with no yellow or blue cast. For residential accent lighting, 3000K is typically preferred as it creates a warmer, more inviting atmosphere.

Can it be dimmed?

No. The integrated LED driver does not support dimming. If you need dimmable accent lighting, look for models with 'Dim' or 'Dimmable' in the specification table.
