Description
The Aros is a 12W LED ceiling light with a white aluminium dome shade and integrated 3000K LED producing 720 lumens. The semi-flush fitting sits close to the ceiling with a low-profile mounting plate, projecting approximately 150mm from the ceiling surface. The wide 180-degree beam angle distributes light across the room rather than concentrating it downward, making this a functional ambient light rather than a spotlight.
Designed for bedrooms, hallways, cloakrooms and utility rooms where ceiling heights are limited or a minimalist fitting is preferred, the Aros provides enough light for general circulation and low-intensity tasks. The white aluminium finish blends into white or light-painted ceilings, reducing visual clutter. The fitting is rated IP20, so it is suitable for standard dry interior rooms but not for bathrooms or outdoor locations.
The aluminium construction keeps the fitting lightweight at under 1kg, making it straightforward to install on standard plasterboard ceilings without additional support. The integrated LED is non-replaceable and rated for 15,000-25,000 hours depending on operating conditions, which translates to approximately 6-10 years of typical residential use at 4 hours per day. The fitting is not dimmable and runs on standard UK 220-240V mains.

Frequently Asked
Is this dimmable?
No. The integrated LED runs at a fixed 12W output and is not compatible with dimmer switches. Connecting it to a dimmer circuit may cause flickering or damage to the driver.
What colour is the light output?
The LED produces 3000K warm white light, which gives a soft yellow-white tone similar to traditional incandescent or halogen bulbs. This is warmer than daylight-rated LEDs and suits residential interiors.
Can this be used in a bathroom?
No. The fitting is rated IP20, which means it has no protection against moisture. For bathrooms, an IP44 or IP65 rated fitting is required depending on the zone.
What size room does it suit?
The 720 lumens output suits rooms up to approximately 8-10 square metres for general ambient lighting. For larger rooms or brighter task lighting, consider pairing with additional fittings or choosing a higher-wattage model.
