Description

The Rim is a 60cm circular LED ceiling light built from a single aluminium ring finished in brass, with an integrated 35W LED strip delivering 1521-1531 lumens depending on the selected colour temperature. The LED ribbon runs inside the profile and casts light both downwards through the centre and upwards onto the ceiling, creating indirect wash light as well as direct task illumination.

Designed for living rooms, bedrooms and hallways with standard 2.4m ceiling heights, the Rim provides ambient and functional lighting in a single fitting. The ring profile stands approximately 50mm off the ceiling, giving enough clearance to create the upward wash effect without dominating the ceiling plane. The 120-degree beam angle means the downlight spreads evenly across a 4-5m square room rather than creating a narrow spotlight cone.

The brass finish is applied to the aluminium extrusion and provides a warm metallic accent against white or neutral ceilings. The fitting includes integrated dimming capability, allowing brightness control when paired with a compatible trailing-edge LED dimmer. The selectable colour temperature lets you choose between warm 2600K (incandescent-tone white) or neutral 3500K (cooler daylight white) depending on the room's function and the time of day you most use the space. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor environments only.

Is this dimmable?

Yes. The integrated LED is dimmable when used with a compatible trailing-edge LED dimmer. Dimmer compatibility can vary by manufacturer, so confirm compatibility with your chosen dimmer model before installation.

How do I select between 2600K and 3500K?

The colour temperature is selected during installation via a switch on the driver or control module inside the ceiling rose. Once set, it remains at that temperature until manually changed by an electrician.

What ceiling height is needed?

The fitting projects approximately 50mm from the ceiling. It suits standard 2.4m ceiling heights in residential properties and can be used in rooms up to 2.7m high without appearing too low.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is not protected against moisture ingress and must only be used in dry indoor environments away from direct water exposure.
