Description

The Rim ring ceiling light forms a 400mm circular aluminium frame finished in brushed brass, with an integrated 24W LED strip that runs the full circumference of the ring. The LED emits 1060 lumens at either 2600K (warm white) or 3500K (neutral white), casting light downwards through a white acrylic diffuser on the underside of the ring and upwards onto the ceiling through the open centre.

Designed for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the ring suits hallways, bedrooms, kitchens and dining rooms where a clean, geometric fitting is preferred over traditional pendant or flush forms. The 24W output provides sufficient ambient light for rooms up to 12-15m² when used as the primary ceiling fitting, or supplements natural light in larger open-plan spaces. The dimmable LED allows output to be adjusted for evening or daytime use, provided the fitting is paired with a compatible LED dimmer.

The brushed brass finish sits between polished brass and antique brass in tone, with a low-sheen surface that reflects less light than polished metal. The aluminium construction keeps the weight down to approximately 1.5kg despite the 400mm diameter, making the fitting straightforward to install on standard UK ceiling roses. The IP20 rating limits installation to dry indoor spaces only - this is not suitable for bathrooms or outdoor use.

Is this fitting dimmable?

Yes. The integrated LED is dimmable when paired with a compatible LED dimmer switch. Not all dimmers support LED fittings, so check compatibility before installation or contact us for advice.

What ceiling height is needed?

The ring sits close to the ceiling (approximately 80-100mm projection). It works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. Lower ceilings can accommodate it, but the fitting may feel visually dominant in compact spaces.

Does the LED emit light upwards and downwards?

Yes. The LED runs around the full ring, with light directed downwards through a white acrylic diffuser and upwards through the open centre of the ring, creating a halo effect on the ceiling.

Can the colour temperature be changed after installation?

No. The colour temperature (2600K or 3500K) is fixed at the time of manufacture. Check the product label or listing to confirm which variant you are ordering.
