Rim Ring LED Ceiling Light 400mm - Black

The Rim is a 580mm circular LED ceiling light built around a matt black aluminium ring that conceals an integrated 24W LED light source behind a white acrylic diffuser. The LED output can be switched between 3000K warm white and 4000K neutral white via a selector on the driver, allowing the colour temperature to be chosen on installation depending on room use.

Designed as a flush-fit ceiling light for rooms with low ceilings or ceiling heights below 2.4m, the Rim projects approximately 60-80mm from the ceiling surface once installed. The circular diffuser casts even ambient light across the room without creating a central glare point, making it suitable for bedrooms, hallways, home offices and living rooms where overhead lighting needs to cover a wide area without taking up ceiling height. The 120-degree beam angle spreads light across a typical 3-4m room without requiring additional fittings.

The aluminium housing and matt black finish give the fitting a low-reflective presence that sits neutrally against white, grey or darker ceilings. The integrated LED is rated at 584-581 lumens depending on the colour temperature setting selected, providing moderate ambient illumination comparable to a 50-60W equivalent traditional bulb output. The fitting is dimmable when paired with a compatible LED dimmer on the mains circuit, allowing light levels to be adjusted for different times of day.

Can the colour temperature be changed after installation?

No. The Rim has a selector switch on the driver that allows you to choose between 3000K warm white and 4000K neutral white before final installation. Once the ceiling rose cover is in place, the switch is not accessible without removing the fitting.

Is this dimmable?

Yes, when paired with a compatible LED dimmer on the mains circuit. Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific dimmer model - trailing-edge LED dimmers typically work best with integrated LED fittings. The fitting cannot be dimmed without a dimmer switch installed.

What ceiling height does this suit?

The flush-fit design projects approximately 60-80mm from the ceiling, making it suitable for low-ceiling rooms with heights between 2.2m and 2.6m where a pendant or semi-flush fitting would hang too low.

What size room does the 24W output cover?

The 584-581 lumen output and 120-degree beam angle suit rooms of approximately 10-15 square metres as the primary light source. Larger rooms or rooms requiring higher light levels may need two fittings or supplementary task lighting.
