Description
The Lens is a surface-mounted LED downlight with a cylindrical black aluminium housing and an integrated 15W LED module delivering 970 lumens at 3000K. The 70-degree beam angle focuses light downward in a controlled cone, making it suitable for task lighting over kitchen worktops, bathroom vanities, or as accent lighting in hallways and entrance areas.
The IP44 rating provides splash protection, allowing installation in bathrooms (zones 2 and 3), covered outdoor porches, and other areas where occasional water exposure is expected. The black powder-coated aluminium housing resists corrosion and requires no maintenance beyond occasional wiping with a damp cloth. The fitting mounts directly onto the ceiling surface with concealed fixings, sitting approximately 100mm below the ceiling line once installed.
The 90 CRI rating ensures colour accuracy under the light, making it appropriate for spaces where colour rendering matters-wardrobes, makeup areas, art display walls. The non-dimmable LED driver operates on standard UK 230V mains and requires no transformer. The black finish pairs cleanly with contemporary, industrial and minimalist interiors where discrete ceiling-mounted task lighting is needed without the complexity of recessed downlight installation.

Frequently Asked
Can this be used in a bathroom?
Yes. The IP44 rating provides splash protection suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3. This means it can be installed outside the shower enclosure and away from direct spray, but not inside the shower itself.
Is it dimmable?
No. The integrated LED driver is not compatible with dimmer switches. Attempting to use a dimmer will cause flickering or may damage the driver.
What does the 90 CRI rating mean?
CRI (Colour Rendering Index) measures how accurately colours appear under the light compared to natural daylight. A CRI of 90 is considered high and ensures colours look true to life, making this fitting suitable for makeup areas, wardrobes and spaces where colour accuracy matters.
How is it fitted?
The fitting mounts directly onto the ceiling surface using concealed screws. The mains cable is connected inside the housing to a terminal block. No recessing or ceiling cutting is required, but the fitting projects approximately 100mm below the ceiling line.
