Description
The Float is a ceiling-mounted LED light with a clear glass disc shade and a matt black metal canopy. An integrated 13W LED sits within the black canopy and projects warm 3000K light downward through the clear glass, which spreads the beam to a 100-degree angle. The glass shade sits approximately 60mm below the canopy, creating a low-profile fitting suitable for standard and low-ceiling heights.
Designed for hallways, landings, bedrooms, home offices and kitchen circulation areas where ceiling height is limited, the Float provides functional task light without the drop and visual weight of a pendant. The 800 lumens output is enough to light a 10-12m² room as a primary ceiling source, or to act as supplementary light in larger open-plan areas. The fitting is dimmable when paired with a compatible LED dimmer switch, allowing light levels to be adjusted from full output down to a low ambient glow.
The clear glass shade remains transparent when the LED is off, minimising visual interruption on the ceiling plane. When lit, the glass diffuses the LED point source into an even disc of light with soft edge falloff, avoiding harsh shadows or hotspots. The matt black canopy finish pairs with both monochrome and industrial interiors, and the compact diameter suits contemporary spaces where minimal ceiling fixtures are preferred. The IP20 rating makes it suitable for dry interior rooms only.

Frequently Asked
Is the LED dimmable?
Yes, the integrated 13W LED is dimmable. Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific dimmer model installed. Leading-edge LED dimmers generally work best with this fitting. If in doubt, contact us before pairing with a dimmer switch.
What ceiling height does it suit?
The low-profile design with approximately 60mm projection below the canopy suits standard UK ceiling heights of 2.3-2.7m and also works in rooms with lower ceilings where pendant fittings would feel oppressive. The 100-degree beam angle provides good spread even at close range.
Can it be used in bathrooms?
No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is only suitable for dry interior rooms. Bathrooms require a minimum IP44 rating depending on zone location.
How is the glass shade cleaned?
Switch off the mains supply before cleaning. Wipe the clear glass shade with a soft microfibre cloth, lightly dampened with water if needed. Avoid household sprays or abrasive materials that could scratch the glass or damage the black canopy finish.
