Description
The Velora is an 8W LED bollard light built around a cylindrical brown-finished metal column supporting a clear spherical glass shade. The integrated LED casts 420 lumens of warm 3000K light through the transparent globe with a 110-degree beam angle, providing pathway illumination and ambient wash light around the base. The fitting carries an IP65 rating, protecting against dust ingress and water jets from any direction.
Designed for garden pathways, driveways, patio edges and entrance areas, the bollard provides low-level lighting without glare at eye level. The column stands approximately 70-80cm tall based on typical bollard proportions, positioning the light source below standard standing eye height while keeping the spherical shade visible as a feature element. The brown metal finish pairs with terracotta, natural stone and timber landscape materials, blending into planted borders without the reflective presence of stainless steel or black aluminium.
The clear glass sphere allows the LED light source to be visible when lit, creating a dual-sphere effect with the outer glass and inner LED element both defined. The 90 CRI rating ensures accurate colour rendering of plant foliage, pathway surfaces and architectural details within the 110-degree beam spread. The fitting operates on 220-240V mains and is not dimmable. The metal construction and IP65 sealing provide durability through UK weather conditions including rain, frost and direct sunlight.

Frequently Asked
Can this be used on a coastal property?
The IP65 rating protects against water jets and dust, making the fitting suitable for general outdoor use. However, the brown metal finish may be vulnerable to accelerated corrosion in high-salt coastal environments. For properties within 500m of the sea, consider stainless steel or marine-grade aluminium alternatives.
How is it installed?
Bollard lights typically require a buried electrical supply cable terminating at the base of the column. The fitting mounts onto a foundation spike or concrete footing depending on the ground surface. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician familiar with outdoor electrical work and IP-rated connections.
Is the LED replaceable?
The LED is integrated into the fitting and is not user-replaceable. The stated lifespan for integrated LEDs in outdoor bollards is typically 25,000-30,000 hours, equivalent to approximately 10-12 years at 8 hours per night operation.
What spacing is recommended between bollards?
For pathway lighting, space bollards 3-4 metres apart for continuous illumination, or 5-6 metres apart for marker lighting only. The 110-degree beam and 420 lumen output provide approximately 1.5-2 metres of usable light spread around each fitting.
