Porte LED Bollard Light 7W 3000K - Black

The Porte is a 7W LED bollard light housed in a matt black powder-coated aluminium body with an integrated LED light source delivering 250 lumens at 3000K. The fitting directs light downward through a 36° beam angle, casting a controlled wash of warm white light onto pathways, driveways and garden borders without significant upward spill.

Designed for garden pathway lighting, driveway edges and patio perimeters, the IP54 rating protects the internal electronics from dust ingress and water spray from any direction, making it suitable for year-round outdoor installation in UK climates. The vertical rectangular profile stands approximately 60cm tall, placing the light source at shin height where it illuminates the ground plane without shining directly into the eyes of approaching pedestrians.

The matt black aluminium body resists corrosion and weathering better than painted mild steel, maintaining its finish over multiple seasons of exposure to rain, frost and UV. The non-dimmable 7W LED is wired directly to 220-240V mains via an underground cable run, eliminating the need for external transformers or drivers. The 80 CRI rating provides reasonable colour rendering for plants and hardscaping materials, though not at the higher 90+ CRI standard needed for retail or hospitality applications.

What spacing is recommended between bollards?

For pathway lighting, a 3-4m spacing between bollards typically provides continuous ground illumination without dark gaps. The 250 lumens and 36° beam angle create a pool of light approximately 1.5m in diameter at ground level.

Can this be used in coastal locations?

The IP54 rating and aluminium body provide reasonable protection from salt air, but coastal installations accelerate corrosion on any outdoor metal fitting. Periodic rinsing with fresh water and inspection of the cable entry point will extend the lifespan in coastal gardens.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The LED is integrated into the fitting and cannot be replaced by the end user. The expected lifespan of the LED is typically 25,000-30,000 hours, equating to approximately 8-10 years of dusk-to-dawn operation before significant lumen depreciation.

What cable specification is needed?

Underground mains cable runs for garden lighting should use 3-core armoured cable (SWA) with a minimum 1.5mm² cross-section, installed at least 450mm below ground level. Installation must comply with BS 7671 wiring regulations and should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
