Description
The Core 25W LED outdoor spotlight delivers 1850 lumens of 3000K warm white light through a black aluminium housing mounted on a ground spike. The single LED module is fixed within a tilting head, allowing the light to be angled towards trees, walls, architectural features or garden borders after installation. The spotlight runs on 24V DC, requiring a compatible external transformer (sold separately).
Designed for garden accent lighting, pathway illumination and architectural uplighting, the spotlight pushes directly into soil, lawn or soft ground via the spike base. The 36° beam angle concentrates light onto specific features rather than flooding a wide area, making it suitable for highlighting individual trees, shrubs, statuary or building facades. The IP65 rating protects against rain, garden irrigation and hose spray, allowing year-round outdoor use.
The black powder-coated aluminium housing resists corrosion and UV degradation, and the spike base sits approximately 200-250mm into the ground for stability. The tilting head adjusts through approximately 90° of vertical movement, allowing fine control over the light direction after the spike is in place. The 25W LED output is non-dimmable and operates at a fixed colour temperature, with a CRI of 80 providing reasonable colour accuracy for planting and stonework.
The 24V DC operation provides a safer alternative to mains-voltage garden lighting where cables run underground or through borders, reducing shock risk if a cable is accidentally cut during digging. Multiple spotlights can be run from a single transformer, with typical transformers supporting 4-8 units depending on the transformer rating.

Frequently Asked
Does this require a transformer?
Yes. The spotlight operates on 24V DC and requires a compatible outdoor transformer (sold separately). The transformer converts 230V mains to 24V DC. Check the transformer's total wattage capacity to determine how many spotlights can be run from a single unit.
Can the light direction be adjusted after installation?
Yes. The head tilts through approximately 90° of vertical movement on a ball joint, allowing the beam to be directed upwards towards trees and walls or downwards onto pathways and borders. The adjustment can be made after the spike is in the ground.
What does IP65 mean for garden use?
IP65 provides protection against dust ingress and water jets from any direction. The spotlight can withstand rain, garden sprinklers and hose spray, making it suitable for year-round outdoor installation in UK weather conditions.
How deep does the spike need to go?
The spike typically sits 200-250mm into the ground for stability. In soft soil or lawn the spotlight pushes in by hand or with light foot pressure. In harder ground or compacted soil, pre-drilling a pilot hole may be necessary to avoid bending the spike.
