Description

The Satin is a 500mm drum suspension light with a white fabric outer shade stretched over a chrome frame, housing four E27 bulb fittings and a sandblasted glass diffuser at the base. The fabric drum encloses the bulbs on the sides while the transparent sandblasted glass bottom panel allows downward light distribution, creating both ambient and task lighting depending on bulb choice.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and open-plan living spaces, the Satin hangs on adjustable-length suspension cables, allowing the drop to be set between 400mm and 1500mm depending on ceiling height and use. Over a dining table the fixture typically sits 700-900mm above the surface for even illumination across the table width. The 500mm diameter suits tables seating four to six people without overwhelming smaller rooms.

The white fabric outer shade is mounted on a PVC sheet backing for dimensional stability, preventing sagging over time while maintaining the soft-edged appearance of a textile shade. What bulbs does it take?

The Satin takes four E27 (Edison screw) bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs between 6-10W each and 2700K-3000K for dining and living spaces. The fitting is dimmable when used with dimmable bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch.

How is the drop height adjusted?

The suspension cables are adjustable on installation, allowing the fitting to be set at any drop between approximately 400mm and 1500mm. Once set, the cables are fixed at that length and trimming excess cable gives a cleaner finish.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is suitable only for dry indoor locations. It cannot be installed in bathrooms, utility rooms or any location where it may be exposed to moisture or steam.

How is the fabric shade cleaned?

Switch off the mains supply before cleaning. Wipe the fabric with a dry, soft microfibre cloth or use a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush attachment on low suction to remove dust. Do not use water or cleaning sprays on the fabric as this may stain or damage the material.
