Description

The Rim is a 26cm round metal ceiling canopy designed to support three pendant lights from a single ceiling rose. The canopy is a flat disc 260mm in diameter and 2mm thick, finished in matt black metal with three pre-drilled apertures positioned evenly around the plate to accommodate pendant cables. Each aperture accepts standard pendant flex, allowing three separate lights to be suspended at different drop lengths from the same central fixing point.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and open-plan living spaces where multiple pendant lights need to hang in a cluster or linear arrangement, the Rim provides a cleaner alternative to three separate ceiling roses. The low 2mm profile sits almost flush with the ceiling, reducing visual clutter above the pendants. The canopy mounts to a standard UK ceiling rose and distributes the electrical connections internally, so only the black disc and the three pendant cables are visible once installed.

The matt black finish is powder-coated metal that resists fingerprints and blends with both contemporary and industrial interiors. The 26cm diameter is large enough to distribute the weight of three medium-sized glass or metal pendants without appearing undersized, yet compact enough not to dominate the ceiling plane in rooms with ceiling heights below 2.6m. The canopy works with any E27 or E14 pendant fitting that uses standard flex rather than rigid rod suspension.

How is the canopy wired?

The canopy connects to a standard UK ceiling rose via a central fixing point. The three pendant cables feed through the pre-drilled apertures and connect internally to the mains supply, so the wiring is concealed within the canopy disc. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician.

Can the pendant drop lengths be different?

Yes. Each of the three pendant cables can be set to a different length, allowing you to create a staggered or cascading arrangement over a dining table or kitchen island. The canopy simply provides the ceiling fixing point — the drop is controlled by the pendant cable length.

What weight can it support?

The canopy is designed to support three standard pendant lights with glass or metal shades. Total combined weight should not exceed the rated capacity of the ceiling rose and ceiling fixing. For heavy glass pendants or multi-bulb fittings, confirm the ceiling structure can support the load before installation.

Does it work with braided cable pendants?

Yes. The apertures accept standard pendant flex including braided fabric cable, clear flex and PVC-sheathed cable. The aperture diameter is sized for typical E27 and E14 pendant flex — check the cable outer diameter if using unusually thick decorative cable.
