Description
The Phix is a 2-light wall light with twin black cone shades mounted in opposing directions on a brushed brass arm, each housing an E27 bulb fitting. The upper shade points upward, the lower shade angles down, creating a double-cone silhouette mounted from a circular brushed brass wall plate. Each shade pivots independently on the brass arm, allowing light to be directed up for wash lighting, down for task lighting, or outward into the room.
Designed for bedside walls, hallway runs, and living room accent positions, the Phix works as a stand-alone fixture or in multiples along a corridor to create rhythmic symmetry. The 301mm projection from the wall positions the shades clear of typical headboard height, while the 341mm overall height spans the space between typical pillow height and ceiling without overwhelming a standard 2.4m bedroom. The dual-direction light output makes it functional for reading on one side while the uplight adds ambient fill to the ceiling.
The matt black finish on the metal cone shades absorbs reflections and reduces glare from the bulb when viewed from the side, while the white powder-coated interior of each cone reflects light cleanly. The brushed brass arm and wall plate introduce warmth without the high polish of chrome or the patina of antique brass, sitting comfortably between cool-toned and warm-toned interior schemes. The fitting weighs approximately 1.2kg and mounts to a standard UK back box or wall plate with two fixing screws concealed behind the circular brass base.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Phix take?
Each shade takes one E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs between 4-8W and 2700K-3000K for bedside or hallway lighting.
Can the shades be adjusted after installation?
Yes. Each cone shade pivots independently on the brass arm, allowing you to direct light upward for ceiling wash, downward for reading or task light, or outward into the room. The pivots hold position once set.
What's the projection from the wall?
The fitting projects 301mm from the wall when the shades are set in their standard opposing positions. This clears typical headboard height and keeps the shades away from wall-mounted artwork or mirrors.
Is it suitable for bathroom use?
The Phix carries no IP rating and is not sealed against moisture. It is designed for dry interior spaces such as bedrooms, hallways and living rooms, not bathrooms or outdoor use.
