Lucenza Bathroom Wall Light - Chrome

The Lucenza is a compact bathroom wall light finished in polished chrome, fitted with a clear ridged glass shade and an inner frosted diffuser that softens the light as it spreads. It stands 155mm tall and projects 130mm from the wall, a neat footprint that sits comfortably beside a mirror or above a basin. The fitting is built from steel and glass and takes a single G9 lamp of up to 18W, which is not included, so you can pair it with a warm G9 LED to keep running costs low. With an IP44 rating it is made for the damp air of a bathroom, and it dims when used with a dimmable lamp.

It is rated for bathroom zone 2, and for zone 1 when wired through a 30mA RCD, which gives you real freedom over where it goes: either side of a mirror, along a tiled wall, or in a cloakroom or ensuite. The bright chrome and clear glass read as modern without feeling cold, so the Lucenza suits a contemporary bathroom as easily as a more traditional one.

The chrome plate is bright and reflective, and the ridged glass throws light in a way flat glass does not. To keep it looking its best, switch off at the mains, let it cool, then wipe the glass and plate with a soft dry cloth, avoiding abrasive or solvent cleaners that can dull the finish. As a mains fitting it should be installed by a qualified electrician. Which bathroom zones can the Lucenza go in?

It is IP44 rated, which makes it suitable for bathroom zone 2, the area around a basin or beside a mirror away from direct water. It can also be used in zone 1, the space directly above or within the bath and shower, when the circuit is protected by a 30mA RCD. As placement rules depend on your room, we would always have a qualified electrician confirm the zone before fitting.

What bulb does it take, and is one included?

It takes a single G9 capsule lamp rated up to 18W, which is not included so you can choose your own. A warm white G9 LED, around 2700K to 3000K and 2 to 3W, gives a soft, efficient light that suits the clear ridged glass and keeps running costs low. The frosted inner diffuser softens the bulb so you avoid a harsh point of glare.

Can the Lucenza be dimmed?

Yes, but the dimming comes from the lamp rather than the fitting, so you need a dimmable G9 LED and a compatible dimmer switch on the circuit. Not every LED capsule is dimmable, so it is worth checking the bulb packaging before you buy. Paired correctly, you can take it from bright at the mirror to a softer level in the evening.

How is the glass cleaned and cared for?

Switch off at the mains and let the lamp cool, then wipe the ridged glass and chrome plate with a soft, dry cloth. For water spots a barely damp cloth is fine, but avoid abrasive pads and solvent or limescale sprays, which can dull the chrome over time. Keeping the glass clear also keeps the light output at its best.
