Iris 7 Light Crystal Bar Chandelier - Chrome

The Iris is a 1160mm linear crystal chandelier built on a rectangular chrome bar that houses seven G9 bulb fittings, each fronted by rows of cascading octagonal crystal drops. The crystals hang in multiple tiers from the bar's underside, with cut points along each edge designed to catch and fragment direct light from the bulbs above, throwing prismatic reflections across walls and ceilings when lit.

Designed for positioning above dining tables, kitchen islands and hallway zones, the 1160mm length suits tables seating six to eight or kitchen islands measuring 1.8-2.4m. The suspension cables are adjustable on installation, allowing the bar to be set anywhere from 600mm to 1500mm below the ceiling depending on room height and furniture clearance. The seven G9 fittings distribute light evenly along the bar's length, avoiding the single-point hotspot common in shorter pendant lights.

The chrome frame is a solid rectangular section measuring 1160mm x 90mm x 220mm when assembled. Each tier of octagonal crystals is held on metal pins fixed into the bar, with the lowest tier terminating in pointed crystal finials that catch light at multiple angles. The frame weighs approximately 4kg with all crystals fitted, requiring secure ceiling fixings into joist or concrete rather than plasterboard alone. The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry internal zones, not suitable for bathrooms or outdoor covered areas.

What bulbs does the Iris take?

Seven G9 capsule bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED G9 bulbs between 3W and 5W per fitting (total 21-35W for all seven), giving output equivalent to traditional 25-40W halogen capsules but with lower running costs.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, when paired with dimmable G9 bulbs and a trailing-edge dimmer switch rated for LED loads. The fitting itself is dimmable-compatible but the final dimming performance depends on bulb choice and dimmer model.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Switch off and allow bulbs to cool fully. Wipe each crystal drop with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. For heavier marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the metal pins or chrome bar. Do not use household glass cleaners, they leave residue that dulls the crystal's prismatic effect.

What ceiling height is needed?

The adjustable suspension cables allow the bar to be set between 600mm and 1500mm below the ceiling. For a dining table the bar typically hangs 700-800mm above the surface, which works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. The 220mm drop of the crystals from the bar adds to the total clearance needed.
