Description

The Golden Cage is a 2.1m curved linear suspension light comprising 21 wire-cage spheres in a gold metal finish, each enclosing a section of integrated LED flex. The entire assembly hangs from a single circular surface-mount canopy and sweeps in a gentle arc across the ceiling, making it suited to long dining tables, kitchen islands, and open-plan spaces where a traditional pendant would feel too compact.

The integrated 107W LED runs at 3000K, providing warm white light diffused through each sphere and the surrounding white silicone tube. The surface-mount canopy means the fitting attaches directly to the ceiling without needing a recessed junction box, making it compatible with solid ceilings and situations where ceiling void access is limited. The minimum drop of 94cm and maximum of 184cm allow adjustment on installation to suit ceiling heights between 2.4m and 3.2m.

Each wire sphere measures approximately 12-15cm in diameter and the gold finish is applied over a metal frame, giving a mid-century modern appearance that pairs well with brass, copper and warm-toned contemporary interiors. The curved configuration of 21 spheres creates a necklace-like form that wraps around architectural features or follows the line of an island bench. The minimum drop of 94cm suits ceiling heights from 2.4m upwards, positioning the lowest sphere approximately 1.5m above floor level. The maximum drop of 184cm allows the fitting to hang lower in taller spaces up to 3.2m ceiling height, useful for double-height voids or mezzanine installations.

Can it be installed on a sloped ceiling?

The surface-mount canopy is designed for flat ceilings. Installation on sloped or vaulted ceilings may cause the curved arc of spheres to hang unevenly. Contact an electrician to confirm compatibility before ordering if your ceiling has a slope greater than 5 degrees.
