Description

The Fort Smart Wireless Video Doorbell is a battery-powered 1080p HD camera doorbell with integrated PIR motion detection, two-way audio and a wireless RF plug-in chime. The unit records visitor activity to internal storage without requiring cloud subscriptions or monthly fees, and sends push notifications to the Fort app on iOS or Android when motion is detected or the doorbell button is pressed.

Designed for UK residential front doors and gated entries, the Fort mounts to masonry, timber or UPVC door frames using the supplied hardware and connects to home Wi-Fi for remote viewing and app control. The battery provides up to 750 activations on a full charge depending on usage frequency and ambient temperature. The IP54 ingress protection rating allows outdoor installation in sheltered positions where the unit is protected from direct water jets but exposed to rain splash and dust.

The camera delivers a 130° wide-angle field of view at 1080p resolution, covering a typical front door approach and step area. Five infrared LEDs provide night vision up to 5m in complete darkness, allowing the camera to identify visitors after dark. The PIR sensor detects motion within a 3m range and triggers video recording automatically when someone approaches, even if they do not press the doorbell button. Two-way audio runs through the app, allowing conversation with visitors from anywhere with internet access.

The included plug-in RF chime pairs with the doorbell wirelessly and plugs into any standard UK 230V mains socket indoors, providing an audible chime when the doorbell is pressed. The Fort app supports multiple user accounts on the same doorbell, allowing household members to receive notifications and view live video from their own devices simultaneously.

Does this require a subscription for cloud storage?

No. The Fort records video to internal storage included in the unit. There are no subscription fees or additional cloud storage costs.

How long does the battery last?

The battery provides up to 750 activations on a full charge. Actual runtime depends on usage frequency, ambient temperature and the length of each recorded video. In typical residential use with 10-15 activations per day, expect 6-8 weeks between charges.

Can it be used in exposed outdoor positions?

The IP54 rating protects against dust and rain splash, but the unit should be mounted in a sheltered position such as under a porch canopy or door recess. Direct exposure to driving rain or water jets is not recommended.

Does the plug-in chime work through walls?

The RF chime communicates wirelessly with the doorbell and typically works through standard UK brick or stud partition walls up to approximately 30m line-of-sight range. Thick masonry, metal doors or multiple floors may reduce range.
