Description

The Euclid is a 2 light wall fitting from Hinkley combining an oil-rubbed bronze backplate and vertical spine with brushed brass horizontal arms and cylindrical bulb holders. Each arm holds a single E14 candle bulb (sold separately) positioned symmetrically either side of the central vertical bar, which extends 508mm in height and projects 139mm from the wall.

Designed for hallways, living rooms and staircases where a mid-century accent is needed without occupying floor space, the Euclid provides ambient light through exposed bulbs while the bronze and brass contrast creates visual interest on plain walls. The 244mm width suits walls between alcoves or positioned above console tables and sideboards. The backplate conceals the wiring and mounts to a standard UK junction box.

The oil-rubbed bronze finish on the backplate and spine shows a dark brown-black tone with subtle variation where the rubbed finish reveals lighter bronze underneath, while the brushed brass arms and holders show a warm gold tone with horizontal grain texture. The combination pairs well with both warm-toned traditional interiors and contemporary spaces using mixed metallics. The twin E14 sockets allow flexibility to choose warm filament-style bulbs or LED candles depending on the desired look.

What bulbs does it take?

The Euclid takes two E14 (small Edison screw) candle bulbs up to 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this fitting with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W or filament-style decorative bulbs to show the exposed bulb design.

Can it be mounted on any wall?

Yes, provided there is a standard UK junction box or fixed wiring point. The backplate is 244mm wide and requires approximately 300mm of clear wall space for comfortable installation and visual balance.

Is the fitting suitable for low ceilings or narrow hallways?

The 139mm projection from the wall and 508mm vertical height make the Euclid suited to hallways with at least 1m width, so the arms do not project too far into the walking space. In narrower hallways consider a slimmer wall light with less projection.

Does the bronze finish vary between fittings?

The oil-rubbed bronze finish is applied by hand, so slight variation in the degree of rubbing and the amount of lighter bronze showing through is normal between individual fittings. This is characteristic of the finish rather than a defect.
