Description
The Etoile is a 300mm wall light built around a 130mm sphere of natural Spanish alabaster, supported on a slim cylindrical matte black stem rising from a circular matte black backplate. A single G9 lamp sits inside the alabaster globe, lighting the stone from within so the warm amber and cream veining of the natural material reads clearly across the curved surface.
Designed for hallways, bedside walls, stairwells and bathroom-adjacent corridors, the compact 120mm projection keeps the fitting close to the wall in narrower passageways. The circular backplate covers a standard wall outlet box, and the upward-facing globe casts soft ambient light that bounces off the ceiling rather than glaring directly outward, making the Etoile suitable for use in pairs flanking a mirror, bed or doorway.
The alabaster sphere is carved from solid stone rather than cast resin or moulded glass, so each piece carries its own pattern of mineral veining and tonal shifts. The matte black solid copper frame is finished to a low-sheen surface that absorbs reflections, framing the luminous globe against a darker silhouette. The contrast between the soft, translucent stone and the defined geometric stem gives the fitting a sculptural quality at close range.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Etoile take?
The fitting takes a single G9 capsule lamp, sold separately. A 2700K-3000K warm white LED of around 3-4W works well, allowing the warm tones in the alabaster veining to read clearly when lit.
Can it be used in a bathroom?
An IP rating is not listed in the Specification, so the Etoile should be treated as a standard indoor wall light and kept out of bathroom zones where moisture is present. It suits hallways, bedrooms, stairwells and living areas.
Will the alabaster pattern match between two units?
No. Each globe is carved from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, cloudiness and warm amber tones differ between pieces. When fitted as a pair flanking a mirror or bed, the two spheres will share a family resemblance but will not be identical.
How is the alabaster cleaned?
Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Alabaster is porous and softer than marble, so avoid household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners and do not soak the stone with water.
