Description
The Etoile is a single-light alabaster wall light built around a 130mm sphere carved from natural Spanish alabaster, mounted on a slim brushed brass stem above a circular brushed brass backplate. The fitting stands 300mm tall overall and takes a single G9 lamp inside the alabaster globe, which acts as the diffuser. The result is a compact wall fixture with a clear hierarchy: round stone above, vertical stem in the middle, round metal plate against the wall.
The Etoile suits hallways, bedside positions, vanity walls flanking a mirror, and stair landings where a low-glare ambient source is wanted rather than directed task light. Mounted in pairs either side of a bed or basin, the matched spheres read as a balanced architectural detail. The backplate covers a standard UK wall box, and the G9 socket accepts widely available LED capsules so the colour temperature and output can be chosen to suit the room.
Each alabaster sphere is cut from a single piece of stone, so the veining differs between fittings — soft honey and clouded cream tones run through the white, with darker mineral pockets visible when the lamp is lit. The brushed brass components are made from solid copper with a brushed brass finish, giving a warm, low-sheen surface that pairs comfortably with the natural stone rather than competing with it. The 120mm backplate sits flush to the wall with two visible decorative fixings.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Etoile take?
The fitting takes a single G9 capsule lamp, which sits inside the alabaster sphere. Bulbs are sold separately. A G9 LED between 2.5W and 4W in 2700K-3000K warm white pairs well with the stone and gives a soft ambient glow.
Is it suitable for bathroom use?
No IP rating is specified, so the Etoile should be installed in dry-rated areas only. It is not suitable for bathroom zones. For vanity walls in bedrooms or dressing rooms it works well, but a bathroom application requires an IP-rated alternative.
Does each sphere look the same?
No. Each sphere is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, mineral pockets and tonal variation differ between pieces. Pairs ordered together are not matched but will share the same general character.
How is the alabaster cleaned?
Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Alabaster is porous and softer than marble, so avoid household sprays, polishes and any chemical cleaners. For stubborn marks, use a barely-damp cloth with distilled water and dry immediately.
