Description

The Emberlyte is a 300mm diameter clear glass pendant light with a spherical blown-glass shade and a polished chrome canopy. The single E27 bulb fitting sits centrally within the glass globe, visible through the transparent shade, with the bulb itself becoming part of the visual composition. The 2.15m cable allows the pendant to be shortened during installation to suit ceiling heights from 2.4m upwards.

Designed for kitchens, dining areas and hallways where a single point of light is needed above a worktop, table or in a circulation space, the Emberlyte pairs well with exposed filament LED bulbs that add decorative interest through the clear glass. The chrome canopy fits standard UK ceiling roses. The pendant is dimmable when paired with a compatible dimmer switch and dimmable E27 bulb, allowing the light level to be adjusted from full brightness down to low ambient.

The blown-glass globe is mouth-blown and hand-finished, so slight variations in thickness and curvature between individual pieces are typical of the production method. The clear glass provides unfiltered light distribution in all directions, making the fitting suitable for general ambient lighting rather than directional task light. At 260mm height excluding cable, the glass globe itself is compact enough to work in standard ceiling-height rooms without overwhelming the space. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor locations only.

What bulb does it take?

The Emberlyte uses a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. The clear glass shade works well with exposed filament LED bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K), or with standard LED or halogen bulbs if you prefer a less visible bulb appearance.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, the fitting itself is dimmable-compatible. You will need both a compatible dimmer switch and a dimmable E27 bulb for the dimming function to work. Not all LED bulbs are dimmable, so check the bulb specification before purchasing.

Can the cable length be adjusted?

The 2.15m cable can be shortened during installation by looping the excess inside the ceiling canopy. Once installed, the drop is fixed unless the fitting is taken down and re-adjusted. For dining tables, a typical drop of 700-800mm above the table surface works well.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is not protected against moisture and must only be used in dry indoor rooms. It is not suitable for bathrooms, utility rooms or any location where steam or splashing may occur.
