Description
The Dawn is a 700mm linear suspension light built around a rectangular brass frame that houses three opal glass globe shades suspended from a central black bar. Each globe takes an E14 bulb (sold separately) and the entire fitting hangs on three black fabric-covered cables from a matching black ceiling rose. The brass frame measures 700mm long by 185mm deep by 195mm high, giving the fitting a horizontal emphasis suited to linear installations above dining tables and kitchen islands.
Designed for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Dawn works over surfaces 1.2-2.0m wide where centred placement and even light distribution matter. The 1225mm cable drop is adjustable on installation, allowing the fitting to be positioned 650-800mm above a worktop or 700-850mm above a dining table depending on ceiling height and preference. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor locations — living rooms, dining rooms, kitchens and hallways.
The brass frame uses a satin finish that softens reflections under both natural and artificial light, while the black bar and suspension cables provide tonal contrast without dominating the visual weight of the piece. The three opal glass globes diffuse the light from the bulbs evenly, reducing glare and providing task and ambient light combined. The metal frame construction gives the fitting a 2.8kg weight that requires secure ceiling fixing, but the open rectangular design avoids the visual bulk of a solid pendant canopy.
Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulbs chosen — pair with dimmable LED E14 bulbs and a compatible trailing-edge dimmer for full control. Ideal Lux backs the Dawn with a 5-year warranty covering manufacturing defects.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Dawn take?
The fitting takes three E14 small Edison screw bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair this with 4-6W LED candle or golf ball bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K) to balance light output with the diffusion from the opal glass globes.
Is the Dawn dimmable?
The fitting itself is dimmer-compatible. Full dimming requires dimmable E14 LED bulbs and a compatible trailing-edge dimmer installed at the wall switch. Confirm your dimmer model supports the combined wattage of all three bulbs before installation.
What length dining table or island does it suit?
The 700mm frame length works over tables or islands 1.2-2.0m long. For tables longer than 2m, consider using two Dawn fittings spaced evenly, or choose a longer suspension light from the same range.
Can the cable length be shortened?
Yes. The 1225mm cable drop is adjustable during installation. Excess cable can be looped inside the ceiling rose or cut to length by a qualified electrician, allowing the fitting to sit at the correct height above your surface.
