The Basic Form is a 20cm clear opal glass sphere wall light mounted on a gold-finished metal backplate that projects 25.3cm from the wall. The clear outer globe encases an inner frosted opal glass bulb holder, creating a double-glass construction that diffuses the G9 bulb's light while maintaining visibility of the lamp itself through the transparent outer layer.

Designed for hallways, bedrooms and living room accent positions where both decorative and functional light is needed, the wall light sits low enough on the wall to be used as part of a symmetrical pair flanking a mirror or artwork. The 20cm sphere provides enough presence to work as a solo fitting in a small bedroom or bathroom (IP20 rating restricts it to dry zones only). The gold backplate and mounting cylinder contrast cleanly against the glass, giving the fitting a warm metallic accent without heavy ornamentation.

The combination of clear and frosted glass softens the direct glare from the G9 bulb while keeping the light source visible as part of the design. The fitting takes a single G9 bulb up to 20W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white G9 LED bulb between 3-5W and 2700K-3000K for ambient bedroom or hallway lighting.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The IP20 rating restricts this fitting to dry zones only. It cannot be installed in bathroom zones 1, 2 or 3 where water spray or steam is present, but it can be used in larger bathrooms outside the regulated zones.

How far does it project from the wall?

The total projection from wall to front of the glass sphere is 25.3cm. This makes it suitable for walls with sufficient clearance, such as hallway positions, but may be too deep for narrow corridors or beside wardrobes with limited opening space.
