Description

The Avant-Garde is a wall light built around a white opal glass sphere mounted on a curved matt black metal backplate. The backplate wraps vertically behind the sphere in a geometric arc, creating a layered silhouette against the wall. The single G9 bulb (sold separately, max 25W) sits inside the sphere and diffuses through the white glass as a soft ambient glow.

Designed for hallways, stairwells, bedrooms and living room accent positions, the Avant-Garde provides functional lighting without dominating the wall visually. The 30cm height and 18cm projection suit narrow corridors and alcoves where a traditional picture light or sconce would feel too wide. The IP20 rating restricts it to dry indoor locations only.

The matt black finish on the metal backplate absorbs light rather than reflecting it, keeping attention on the illuminated sphere. What mounting height works best?

For hallway navigation lighting, mount the fitting between 1.5m and 1.8m from the floor. This places the centre of the sphere at or slightly above eye level, which provides good light distribution without glare when walking past.

Is the glass shade replaceable if damaged?
