Description
The Knightsbridge 13A 2-gang SP switched socket adds one USB-A and one USB-C charging port behind an anthracite screwless faceplate with a black insert and matching metal rocker switches. The single-pole switching isolates the live line when the socket is switched off, with shared USB output of 5V DC at 4.0A across both ports for charging smartphones and tablets.
Designed for residential, hospitality and office installation, the socket fits a standard back box with a minimum depth of 25-35mm depending on wiring configuration. The screwless cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame, leaving no visible fixings on the wall once installed. The 13A rating handles standard appliance loads up to 3,120W per outlet. The premium-grade steel construction gives the faceplate a low-profile 4.3mm projection from the wall.
The anthracite finish offers a dark metallic grey that pairs with industrial, modern and minimalist interiors, sitting somewhere between matt black and brushed steel in tone. The black insert behind the anthracite faceplate hides the back of the cover plate and gives a defined edge to each outlet aperture. The USB-C port supports modern fast-charge protocols, while the USB-A retains compatibility with older cables and devices. The socket carries an IP20 rating, suitable for general indoor use in dry locations.

Frequently Asked
What back box depth is required?
A minimum back box depth of 25-35mm is needed, depending on the wiring configuration. The screwless cover plate adds 4.3mm of projection from the wall once fitted.
What's the USB charging output?
The dual USB-A and USB-C ports share a total output of 5V DC at 4.0A. The USB-C port supports modern fast-charge protocols, while the USB-A provides compatibility with older devices.
What's the difference between SP and DP switching?
SP (single-pole) switching isolates only the live line when switched off. DP (double-pole) switching isolates both live and neutral, providing additional safety for high-draw appliances. This socket uses SP switching, suitable for most general residential applications.
Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?
Yes. The cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting around the socket and re-clipped without re-wiring.
