Description

The Yuca is a set of three fiberclay planters moulded from a fiberglass and fibreclay resin composite, each finished in a matte patinated black with vertical ribbing cast into the outer surface. The largest planter measures 49cm diameter by 37cm high, the middle 36cm by 28cm, and the smallest 28cm by 21cm, giving three distinct scale options within the same design language.

Designed for both indoor and outdoor use, the fiberclay construction is weather-resistant and lighter than terracotta or concrete planters of equivalent size, making the set easier to reposition between seasons. The vertical ribbing provides grip texture and visual depth without overwhelming the bowl profile, which sits comfortably alongside poolside furniture, patio seating and contemporary balconies. The black finish contrasts with green foliage and works equally well against both pale rendered walls and darker timber decking.

Each planter has a drainage-free base, so they function as cachepots rather than direct-planted pots — place an inner nursery pot with drainage inside the fiberclay shell, or use them as decorative containers for dried arrangements and branches. The combined weight of the set is 14.5kg, with most of that in the largest planter, so they remain stable in moderate wind without being immovable. The patinated black finish is applied during manufacture and will weather naturally if left outdoors, developing a slightly varied surface tone over time.
