Description

The Verdale is a 16cm cube wall light combining a chrome wire cage with a clear glass outer shell. The inner cage is built from horizontal and vertical chrome bands forming a grid structure, visible through the curved glass envelope that sits around it. A single G9 bulb (sold separately, maximum 33W) sits inside the wire cage, casting light both through the gaps in the grid and through the glass shell.

Designed for hallways, stairwells and feature walls where the fitting is seen at eye level, the Verdale provides ambient rather than task lighting. The 15cm projection from the wall gives the fitting a substantial presence without intruding into narrow circulation routes. The combination of the wire grid and the glass outer layer creates two levels of diffusion, softening direct bulb glare while maintaining brightness in the surrounding area.

The polished chrome finish on both the wall plate and the wire cage reflects surrounding light and works with both neutral and tonal colour schemes. The glass shell is smooth and clear rather than frosted, so the wire structure remains visible when the light is off. At 0.65kg the fitting is light enough to mount on plasterboard with suitable fixings, and the compact 16cm height suits walls with dado rails or picture rails where space between horizontal divisions is limited.

What bulb does the Verdale take?

The fitting takes a single G9 capsule bulb up to 33W, sold separately. Most users pair this with a 3-5W LED G9 in warm white (2700K-3000K) for hallway or landing use.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

The Verdale carries no IP rating and is designed for dry indoor use only. It is not suitable for bathrooms or other high-moisture environments.

How is the glass shell cleaned?

Switch off and allow the bulb to cool. The glass can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth and dried immediately. The chrome wire cage inside can be dusted through the glass or accessed by removing the glass shell if the fitting design allows.

Is the wire cage removable?

The wire cage and glass shell are separate components. Check the fitting instructions to confirm whether the glass outer can be removed for bulb changes or cleaning without dismantling the entire wall plate.
