Description

The Varas is a 53cm LED table lamp built around a white cylindrical column with a gold-finished adjustable arm extending from the upper third. The arm houses two LED light sources behind opal acrylic diffusers, with the integrated 10W LED delivering 900 lumens at 3000K warm white. The gold arm pivots on a concealed joint, allowing the light direction to be adjusted across approximately 180 degrees of rotation.

Designed for desks, bedside tables and console surfaces in rooms needing directional task or reading light without a fixed ceiling fitting, the Varas combines ambient and focused function. The 31cm width and 21cm depth suit typical bedside tables and standard-depth desks without overhanging the edge. The vertical column design keeps the footprint compact while achieving the height needed to direct light onto a book, keyboard or wall without the lamp itself appearing in the user's sightline.

The contrast between the glossy gold arm and matte white base gives the lamp a defined visual presence without the need for additional ornament. The white base provides ballast, bringing the total weight to 1.8kg which prevents the lamp tipping when the arm is extended. The gold finish on the arm is a warm yellow-gold tone rather than rose or champagne gold, pairing well with brass cabinet hardware, warm timber furniture and gold-accented interiors. The Class 2 double-insulated construction means no earth connection is required during installation.

The opal acrylic diffusers soften the LED output and eliminate visible LED points, turning the twin light sources into two continuous glowing bars rather than point sources. The 900-lumen output at 3000K provides sufficient brightness for reading and close work while remaining comfortable for evening use. The IP20 rating limits the lamp to dry indoor environments only.

Yes. The gold arm pivots on a concealed joint near the white column, allowing it to rotate across approximately 180 degrees. This lets you direct light onto a reading position, desk surface, or wall depending on where the lamp is placed.

Is the Varas dimmable?

The integrated 10W LED is not dimmable. The lamp operates at a fixed 900-lumen output at 3000K warm white. There is no dimmer switch or control on the lamp body.

What type of plug does it use?

The Varas comes fitted with a standard UK 3-pin plug and connects to 220-240V mains. The Class 2 construction means no earth connection is needed.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating limits the Varas to dry indoor environments only. It is not rated for bathroom zones or any location where water contact is possible.
