Description

The Streamlight Strass is a 47cm crystal chandelier with six BC bulb fittings arranged around a central nickel frame. Curved nickel arms rise outward from the centre column, each suspending strings of faceted Strass crystal droplets that cascade down in a waterfall formation. The crystals refract ambient and direct light across the space, creating layered sparkle when lit.

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and stairwells with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the chandelier provides both decorative impact and functional ambient light. The 52cm drop allows the fitting to hang 700-900mm above a dining table surface or in the void of a double-height hallway. The six BC (B22 bayonet cap) fittings take standard UK bulbs up to 40W each, giving flexibility to choose warm-white LED filament bulbs for a traditional look or frosted LED for softer diffusion.

The nickel finish on the metalwork brings a cooler, more neutral tone than polished brass or antique gold, pairing well with monochrome interiors, grey-toned contemporary schemes and transitional spaces mixing classical and modern furniture. The waterfall arrangement of crystal droplets gives the chandelier vertical presence without blocking sightlines across a room, and the 5kg weight requires secure ceiling fixing to a joist or reinforced rose. What bulbs does it take?

The chandelier takes six BC (B22 bayonet cap) bulbs, each rated up to 40W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED filament bulbs around 4-6W and 2700K for a traditional ambient glow, or frosted LED bulbs for softer diffusion.

Can it be fitted on a standard ceiling rose?

The chandelier weighs 5kg, which exceeds the safe working load of most standard ceiling roses. Secure fixing requires either a ceiling joist directly above the installation point or a reinforced rose plate fixed to multiple joists. Consult a qualified electrician before installation.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Switch off the power at the mains before cleaning. Wipe each crystal droplet gently with a dry microfibre cloth. For heavier dust, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water works, but avoid soaking the metal chain links or allowing water to run into the bulb fittings. Do not use household glass cleaners or chemical sprays.

Is it dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulbs you choose. LED bulbs must be specifically rated as dimmable and paired with an LED-compatible dimmer switch. Incandescent and halogen bulbs are inherently dimmable with standard resistive dimmers.
