Description

The Sphere Small is a 12cm chrome pendant light with an integrated 4.8W LED and a clear polycarbonate lower hemisphere that diffuses 336 lumens of warm 3000K light. The chrome upper half creates a mirror-finish cap that reflects ceiling detail and contrasts with the textured frosted underside of the globe. The pendant suspends on a 1.5m adjustable cable from a matching chrome ceiling rose.

Designed for cluster installations over kitchen islands, in hallway runs, or as repeating elements down a narrow corridor, the Sphere Small works best in groups of two to five rather than as a single accent. The 12cm diameter keeps each globe visually lightweight, allowing multiple pendants to share a space without competing for attention. The 25cm minimum drop from ceiling to globe base suits standard 2.4m ceiling heights when hung 700-900mm above a worktop or table.

The chrome finish provides a cool metallic accent that pairs with stainless steel appliances, brushed nickel hardware and grey-toned contemporary interiors. The frosted polycarbonate diffuser is moulded with an internal texture that scatters the LED point source into an even glow, softening the appearance of the light when viewed from below. The 0.72kg weight allows the pendant to hang on the cable without additional ceiling reinforcement in most installations.

The integrated LED is rated at 4.8W on 180-240V. Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific dimmer model. Contact us before pairing with a dimmer to confirm compatibility with low-wattage LED loads.

How many should I use over a kitchen island?

For a 1.5-2m kitchen island, two to three Sphere Small pendants spaced 500-700mm apart provide balanced task lighting. For longer islands or dining tables, add additional pendants to maintain consistent spacing.

Can the cable length be adjusted after installation?

The cable is adjustable during installation from 25cm to 150cm total drop. Once fitted, shortening the cable requires removing the ceiling rose and re-feeding the excess cable. Electrician access is needed to change the drop after initial installation.

What rooms is the IP20 rating suitable for?

IP20 is suitable for dry interior spaces such as kitchens, dining rooms, hallways and living areas. It is not rated for bathrooms, wet rooms, or outdoor use.
