Solara 5 Light Crystal Chandelier - Chrome

The Solara is a 37cm diameter crystal chandelier with five G9 bulb fittings arranged inside a circular chrome frame wrapped in stacked crystal blocks. The crystal sections form horizontal bands around the drum, refracting light from the five internal bulbs and creating prism effects when lit. The fitting hangs on twin suspension cables from a chrome ceiling rose, with the cables concealing the electrical run.

Designed for dining tables and kitchen islands in open-plan layouts, the Solara provides both direct downlight through the base of the drum and refracted side-light through the crystal blocks. The 18cm height gives the drum enough presence to read as a feature fitting without blocking sightlines across a table. The twin-cable suspension distributes the 4.5kg weight evenly and allows the fitting to hang level without a single-point swivel. Typical installation positions the base of the drum 700-800mm above the table surface in rooms with 2.4m or higher ceilings.

The chrome finish on the frame and chandelier hardware provides high-gloss reflections that amplify the light output from the G9 bulbs. Each crystal block is cut with facets that catch both the internal bulb light and ambient room light, so the fitting remains visually active even when switched off. The stacked crystal arrangement gives the drum a geometric structure that pairs with both contemporary interiors and more classical spaces where crystal detailing is already present. The G9 bulbs (sold separately) can be warm-white LED for softer ambient lighting or halogen for higher light output and enhanced sparkle through the crystal.

What bulbs does the Solara take?

The fitting takes five G9 capsule bulbs with a maximum total wattage of 33W across all five bulbs. G9 bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with 3-4W warm-white LED G9 bulbs for ambient dining light, or higher-wattage halogen G9 bulbs for brighter light and enhanced crystal sparkle.

Is it dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulb type. LED G9 bulbs must be marked as dimmable and paired with a compatible LED dimmer. Halogen G9 bulbs dim on standard trailing-edge dimmers. The fitting itself has no built-in dimming electronics.

What size dining table does it suit?

The 37cm diameter suits dining tables from 1.2m to 1.8m in length. For larger tables over 2m, consider pairing two Solara fittings spaced along the table length, or choosing a larger pendant from the same range.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Switch off and allow the bulbs to cool completely. Wipe each crystal block with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. For fingerprints or smudges, use a barely-damp cloth with distilled water, then dry immediately with a clean cloth. Avoid household glass cleaners as they can leave residue in the facets.
