Description

The Simara is a 114cm linear bar pendant with five teardrop-shaped crystal shades suspended from a polished chrome ceiling bar. Each shade is moulded with faceted crystal detailing that catches and disperses light across surrounding surfaces, creating both functional illumination and decorative sparkle. The five G9 fittings (bulbs sold separately) are evenly spaced along the bar, providing distributed task lighting over long surfaces.

Designed for installation above kitchen islands, rectangular dining tables and breakfast bars, the Simara works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above where the drop can be set 700-900mm above the worktop or table surface. The 114cm bar length suits island units and tables between 150-200cm long, with the five light sources providing even coverage across the full length. The chrome bar mounts to a standard UK ceiling rose and the cable drop is adjustable during installation.

The faceted crystal shades add formal decorative detail while the polished chrome finish keeps the overall appearance clean and contemporary. The combined weight of 3.6kg means the fitting needs secure fixing to a ceiling joist or reinforced rose, particularly in plasterboard ceilings. The 114cm bar length works best over islands and tables between 150-200cm long. For shorter surfaces the bar may overhang; for longer surfaces consider spacing two smaller pendants or using a different fitting with a wider light spread.

How is it installed on a plasterboard ceiling?

At 3.6kg, the Simara requires secure fixing. In plasterboard ceilings, fix the ceiling rose to a joist or use a cavity fixing rated for at least 5kg. Do not rely on a standard plasterboard plug alone.
