Description

The Sabah is a 100cm diameter rattan pendant light with a hand-woven light brown shade suspended from a white metal canopy. The dome-shaped shade is built from natural rattan strips woven in overlapping horizontal bands, creating gaps that let light filter through in geometric patterns. The integrated 40W E27 LED produces 870 lumens at warm white temperature, casting patterned shadows across ceilings and walls while providing ambient downlight.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and open-plan living areas with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Sabah works as a single statement piece over a six-seat dining table or in pairs over longer kitchen islands. The 70cm minimum drop to 250cm maximum drop gives flexibility to position the shade 70-90cm above a table surface depending on ceiling height. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor spaces only.

The rattan shade measures 100cm wide and 58cm tall, giving substantial visual presence without appearing heavy — the total weight is 4.2kg including canopy and cable. The light brown tone of the natural rattan pairs with warm-toned woods, linen textiles and neutral stone or plaster finishes, while the white metal canopy and cable keep the ceiling junction clean in contemporary and Scandi-leaning interiors. The integrated 40W E27 LED is compatible with most leading-edge dimmers. Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific dimmer model — we recommend confirming compatibility before pairing with a dimmer switch.

What size dining table does it suit?

The 100cm diameter works well over dining tables seating 4-6 people, typically tables measuring 160-200cm long. For larger tables or kitchen islands, consider installing two Sabah pendants spaced evenly along the length.

Can it be used in bathrooms or covered outdoor spaces?

No. The IP20 rating means the Sabah is suitable for dry indoor spaces only. It is not rated for bathroom zones or any environment where moisture or condensation is present.

How is the rattan shade maintained?

Dust the rattan periodically with a soft brush or dry microfibre cloth. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth is acceptable, but avoid soaking the natural fibres. Do not use chemical cleaners or polishes on the woven rattan.
