Description

The RekorHD 8-channel analogue CCTV kit combines an 8-channel DVR with 4TB storage and four 2MP dome cameras in a grey weatherproof housing. Each camera records at 1080p resolution through a 3.6mm fixed lens, providing a field of view suited to monitoring driveways, building perimeters, and garden areas at ranges up to 15-20 metres. The DVR supports up to eight cameras in total, leaving four channels available for future expansion.

Designed for residential and small commercial installations, the kit arrives with cameras, DVR, power supply, and cabling ready to connect. The dome cameras carry an IP66 rating, making them suitable for outdoor mounting in exposed positions where rain and dust are present. Infrared LEDs in each camera provide night vision up to 30 metres in complete darkness, switching automatically between day and night modes as ambient light changes.

The 4TB hard drive inside the DVR provides approximately 30-40 days of continuous recording from all four cameras at 1080p, depending on motion levels and compression settings. The DVR connects to a monitor via HDMI or VGA for local playback, and supports remote viewing through the RekorHD mobile app when connected to a home or business network. The grey finish on the dome cameras blends with rendered and painted exterior walls without the stark contrast of black or white housings.

Can I add more cameras later?

Yes. The DVR supports up to eight cameras. This kit includes four dome cameras, leaving four channels available for additional analogue cameras purchased separately. All cameras must be analogue (AHD/TVI/CVI compatible) rather than IP network cameras.

Are the cameras suitable for outdoor use?

Yes. Each dome camera carries an IP66 rating, meaning it is dust-tight and protected against heavy rain and water jets. The cameras can be mounted in fully exposed positions on external walls, soffits, and eaves without additional weatherproof enclosures.

What cable is needed between cameras and DVR?

Standard RG59 or RG6 coaxial cable (the same type used for TV aerials) runs from each camera back to the DVR. Power for each camera is supplied separately via the included 12V DC power supply, which can be located centrally and distributed to camera positions using two-core cable.
