Description

The RekorHD 4-channel analogue CCTV kit combines a 1TB DVR with two 2MP dome cameras in grey weatherproof housings, each rated IP66 for outdoor use and capable of capturing 1080p footage at 30m infrared range. The DVR records using H.265 video compression, reducing file sizes by up to 50% compared to H.264 while maintaining the same image quality, which extends the effective storage capacity of the pre-installed 1TB hard drive.

Designed for residential and small commercial properties, the kit supports perimeter intrusion detection and line crossing detection, triggering recordings when a defined boundary is crossed rather than recording continuously. This reduces false alerts from moving foliage or passing traffic and keeps the hard drive focused on genuine security events. The DVR operates three recording modes — continuous, scheduled, and motion-triggered — and allows playback, live viewing and remote access simultaneously without interrupting recording.

The two dome cameras use 3.6mm fixed lenses, providing a field of view suited to doorways, driveways and building corners within 8-12m of the camera position. The grey finish blends with render, UPVC soffits and fascias more neutrally than black or white housings. The DVR ships with all necessary cabling, a 12V power supply, and connects to monitors via HDMI. Remote monitoring works through dedicated Android and iOS apps, or via PC web browser, allowing live viewing and playback from anywhere with internet access.

The mouse-driven user menu simplifies setup and configuration without needing a keyboard. USB backup allows recorded footage to be transferred to a memory stick for evidence handover to insurers or authorities. The system supports up to four cameras in total, so two additional analogue cameras can be added later without replacing the DVR.

Can additional cameras be added later?

Yes. The DVR supports up to four analogue cameras in total. Two cameras are included in this kit, so two additional analogue cameras can be connected without replacing the DVR. Cameras must be compatible with the DVR's analogue HD format.

What is the infrared range at night?

Each dome camera has a 30m infrared range in total darkness. Effective range depends on ambient light conditions and the reflectivity of surfaces being monitored. In most residential settings, the cameras provide clear monochrome footage to around 20-25m.

How long does 1TB store footage for?

Storage duration depends on recording mode, resolution and H.265 compression efficiency. Continuous recording at 2MP typically provides 10-14 days of footage from two cameras. Motion-triggered recording extends this to several weeks. Older footage is overwritten automatically when the drive is full.

Is the system suitable for outdoor use?

The cameras are rated IP66, making them weatherproof against rain, dust and typical UK outdoor conditions. The DVR is designed for indoor installation in a dry location such as a utility room, garage or loft space. Cabling between the DVR and outdoor cameras should be routed through conduit or wall cavities.
