Description
The QTX 30cm glass disco ball is a sphere covered in 10mm square mirror facets, designed to reflect and scatter light from pin spot beams across a room. The ball weighs 2.3kg and hangs from a metal ring fixed to the top of the sphere, which allows it to be suspended from a ceiling hook, truss or motorised rotator.
Designed for parties, club installations, mobile DJs and stage productions, the disco ball works by catching directed light from one or more pin spot fixtures positioned around the room and reflecting hundreds of individual beams onto walls, floors and ceilings. The ball requires external lighting to function — it does not contain its own light source. When paired with a motorised rotator, the reflected beams move continuously across the space, creating the classic disco dancefloor effect.
The 30cm diameter suits rooms of approximately 4m x 4m to 8m x 8m, producing visible reflections across a medium-sized dancefloor or function room without overwhelming smaller home party spaces. The glass facets are glued to a lightweight core, giving the ball enough mass to rotate steadily on a motor without wobbling, but keeping the 2.3kg weight manageable for standard ceiling fixings. The mirror finish reflects both white and coloured light, so the ball adapts to different lighting schemes depending on the colour of the pin spots used.

Frequently Asked
Does the disco ball include a motor or light?
No. The ball is a passive reflector and requires external pin spot lighting to create the effect. A motorised rotator is sold separately if continuous rotation is needed.
What size room does a 30cm ball suit?
A 30cm disco ball works well in rooms between 4m x 4m and 8m x 8m. Smaller balls suit home parties and smaller function rooms; larger balls (40cm, 50cm) are better for club installations and larger venues.
How is the ball suspended?
The metal ring at the top of the ball fits onto a ceiling hook, carabiner or the shaft of a motorised rotator. Ensure the ceiling fixing can support at least 5kg to allow for the weight of the ball plus any attached motor.
Can it be used outdoors?
The ball is not weatherproof. It can be used in covered outdoor spaces where the ball and motor remain dry, but prolonged exposure to moisture will damage the glass facets and adhesive.
