Description
The PowerMaster fire rated tilt downlight features a white pressed steel housing with an adjustable gimbal mechanism that allows the GU10 lampholder to tilt up to 30 degrees from vertical, directing light to a specific wall feature, worktop or reading position. The 86mm cut-out diameter fits standard ceiling apertures and the fire-rated construction meets 30, 60 and 90-minute intumescent requirements, sealing the ceiling void in the event of fire.
Designed for kitchens, living rooms, hallways and home offices where task or accent lighting is needed, the tilt function provides flexibility that fixed downlights cannot offer. The white finish sits flush with most white and off-white ceilings, making the fitting less visible when viewed from below. The gimbal rotates through approximately 350 degrees, so the light can be aimed towards any point around the fitting without needing to reposition the downlight itself.
The pressed steel body gives structural rigidity while keeping the weight to 0.24kg, and the screwless terminal block simplifies wiring on installation. The fitting accepts any standard 50W-maximum GU10 bulb (sold separately), allowing control over colour temperature and beam angle depending on the bulb chosen. IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor areas only — Zone 3 bathrooms or beyond, not Zones 0-2.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does it take?
The fitting takes a standard GU10 bulb up to 50W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 5-7W GU10 LED in warm white (2700K-3000K) for residential use, or daylight (4000K-5000K) for task lighting in kitchens and offices.
How much does the gimbal tilt?
The gimbal tilts approximately 30 degrees from vertical and rotates through about 350 degrees, allowing light to be directed towards walls, worktops or specific features without needing to move the downlight position.
What fire rating does it carry?
The downlight is rated for 30, 60 and 90-minute fire resistance, meeting Building Regulations requirements for maintaining ceiling integrity in the event of fire. The intumescent seal expands when heated to block the aperture.
Can it be used in bathrooms?
Only in Zone 3 or beyond (600mm+ from the bath or shower edge). The IP20 rating does not provide protection against direct water spray, so it cannot be installed in Zones 0, 1 or 2.
