Description

The PowerMaster 5ft LED batten houses an integrated 45W LED delivering 4,050 lumens at 4,000K cool white through an opal plastic diffuser, producing even, shadow-free light across a 120-degree beam angle. The aluminium body weighs 580g and measures 1500mm long, fitting directly to ceilings or walls via two fixing points at either end.

Designed for garages, workshops, commercial kitchens, storage areas and office environments requiring bright task lighting, the batten operates on 220-240V mains and connects via an extra-long cable that runs three-quarters of the fitting's length, simplifying installation in runs or where the mains feed is offset from the centre. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor spaces only — Zone 3 bathrooms at minimum 600mm from any water source, or general commercial and domestic spaces away from moisture.

The opal diffuser softens the LED output to reduce glare on work surfaces and screens, while the aluminium housing dissipates heat efficiently without requiring active cooling or ventilation. The 90 lumens-per-watt efficacy (calculated from 4,050lm ÷ 45W) places this batten in the G energy rating bracket under current UK labelling, which is standard for non-dimmable retrofit battens at this wattage. The fitting cannot be dimmed and is not compatible with dimmer switches.

The slimline profile and white finish allow the batten to blend into ceilings in multi-unit runs, common in commercial kitchens, workshops and retail back-of-house areas where unbroken light coverage is needed across benches or assembly lines. The retrofit design means it can replace older T8 fluorescent battens of the same length without rewiring the circuit.

Is this batten dimmable?

No. The integrated LED driver does not support dimming and the fitting is not compatible with dimmer switches. Attempting to use a dimmer may damage the driver or cause flickering.

Can it be used in a garage or workshop?

Yes, provided the space is dry and indoors. The IP20 rating means the batten is not protected against moisture or dust ingress, so it should not be used in damp garages, outdoor carports, or areas where condensation is common.

What does the extra-long cable mean for installation?
