Description

The PowerMaster 5ft 30W LED batten is a 1500mm linear ceiling-mounted fitting with an integrated LED strip behind an opal polycarbonate diffuser, delivering 3600lm at 4000K cool white. The fitting uses a screwless hinged bracket that clips onto a fixed backplate, allowing the entire cover and diffuser assembly to swing open for lamp access or cleaning without removing fixings from the ceiling.

Designed for offices, workshops, retail back-of-house areas, garages and storage spaces where continuous bright white light is needed, the batten mounts to ceilings or wall surfaces using quick-fit push terminals that accept 1-2.5mm² cable without requiring a screwdriver. The 130 lumens-per-watt efficiency and 4000K colour temperature provide clear visibility for detailed tasks, reading labels, and colour-accurate work. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor environments only.

The white steel casing measures 1500mm long × 75mm wide × 65mm high and weighs 1.6kg once fitted. The opal diffuser spreads the 120° beam angle evenly along the fitting length, preventing visible LED hotspots and reducing glare on screens or reflective surfaces. The flicker-free driver runs on 230V mains without requiring external ballasts or transformers, and the IK06 impact rating gives light protection against knocks during installation or maintenance work in active environments.

What does the screwless hinged bracket mean for installation?

The batten backplate fixes to the ceiling with screws in the usual way, but the diffuser cover clips onto the backplate via a hinged mechanism. This means you can swing the cover open for cleaning or maintenance without removing any screws, then clip it shut again. No screws are visible on the finished fitting.

Is this batten suitable for bathrooms or outdoor use?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is not protected against moisture ingress and must only be used in dry indoor locations. For bathrooms you would need an IP44-rated batten minimum; for outdoor use IP65.

Can this batten be dimmed?

No. The integrated LED driver is non-dimmable. Connecting it to a dimmer switch may cause flickering, humming or damage to the driver circuitry.

What cable size do the quick-fit terminals accept?

The push terminals accept 1-2.5mm² cable. This covers standard UK lighting cable (1.5mm²) and also allows slightly larger cables commonly used in commercial or workshop installations.
