Description
The PowerMaster 5.5W fire rated downlight is a recessed LED fitting with an integrated CCT selector that switches between three colour temperatures (warm white, neutral white, cool white) via a switch on the rear of the driver. The white bezel sits flush with the ceiling once installed, and the IP65 rating allows it to be fitted in bathroom zones 1, 2 and 3, plus kitchens and wet rooms where moisture protection is required.
Designed for ceilings with void depths of 80mm or more, the downlight is fire rated for 30, 60 and 90 minutes, meaning it restores the fire integrity of the ceiling once installed in accordance with building regulations. The 5.5W integrated LED delivers 500 lumens at a 60° beam angle, providing general ambient light across a 2-3m² area per fitting. The downlight is dimmable when paired with a compatible leading-edge or trailing-edge LED dimmer.
The CCT selector gives three fixed colour temperature options rather than a continuous range, typically 3000K (warm white), 4000K (neutral white) and 6500K (cool white). This allows the fitting to be adapted to different room contexts without needing to stock multiple SKUs. The white polycarbonate bezel resists discolouration from heat and moisture better than painted metal alternatives. Cut-out diameter is typically 65-68mm, confirmed in the installation instructions supplied with each fitting.

Frequently Asked
How do I change the colour temperature?
The CCT selector is a physical switch on the rear of the LED driver. Set it to your chosen colour temperature before installation. The three settings are typically 3000K (warm white), 4000K (neutral white) and 6500K (cool white). Once the fitting is in the ceiling you cannot change it without removing the downlight.
What ceiling void depth is needed?
A minimum 80mm void depth is required above the ceiling to accommodate the fire hood, driver and spring clips. Check your ceiling construction before ordering.
Is it suitable for bathroom use?
Yes. The IP65 rating allows installation in bathroom zones 1, 2 and 3. It cannot be used in zone 0 (inside the shower cubicle or bath). Ensure the fitting is wired by a qualified electrician in accordance with Part P of the Building Regulations.
What fire rating does it carry?
The downlight is certified for 30, 60 and 90 minute fire rating, meaning it restores the fire integrity of the ceiling once installed according to the supplied instructions. This certification is required under UK building regulations for recessed fittings in most residential and commercial applications.
