Description
The Knightsbridge 1IPB is a recessed deck light housing a 1W blue LED behind a matt diffuser in a 60mm diameter 304 stainless steel bezel. The fitting carries an IP68 rating, meaning it can withstand temporary submersion and is rated for direct contact with water, making it suitable for decking, patios, steps, and pathway borders where surface water or heavy rain is expected.
Designed for flush installation in timber decking, composite boards, paving slabs or rendered surfaces, the fitting requires a 50mm diameter cutout and a minimum 40mm void depth beneath the surface. The bezel projects just 2mm above the installed surface, reducing trip hazard and allowing the fitting to sit nearly flush with foot traffic areas. The 3m cable run allows the fitting to be positioned away from the power source and linked to other fittings in a daisy-chain configuration.
The blue LED produces accent lighting rather than functional illumination, typically used to mark the edge of a deck, highlight individual steps on an outdoor staircase, or define pathway borders in gardens and courtyards. The 304 stainless steel construction resists corrosion in coastal and high-moisture environments better than mild steel or plastic alternatives. The matt diffuser spreads the blue light evenly across the aperture, avoiding harsh point-source glare when viewed from above.

Frequently Asked
What does IP68 mean for outdoor use?
IP68 is the highest common ingress protection rating for permanent outdoor fittings. The fitting can withstand temporary submersion in water and direct contact with heavy rain, surface water, and pooling without water entering the housing. It is suitable for wet locations including poolside decking and coastal installations.
What depth is needed beneath the surface?
A minimum 40mm void depth is required beneath the installation surface to accommodate the recessed body of the fitting. The cutout diameter is 50mm, and the bezel sits 2mm proud of the surface once installed.
Can multiple fittings be linked together?
Yes. The 3m cable run allows the fitting to be daisy-chained with other compatible Knightsbridge recessed deck lights. The specification sheet linked in the Downloads tab provides wiring diagrams for multi-fitting installations.
Is the blue LED replaceable?
No. The LED is integrated into the fitting and is not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for tens of thousands of hours of operation, typically outlasting the warranty period by a significant margin.
