Description
The Orell is a single-light wall fitting with a cylindrical glass enclosure held within an antique brass frame. The glass cylinder, measuring 15cm diameter by 24cm height, has a subtle smoky tint that partially obscures the internal ES bulb holder while allowing warm light to pass through. The brass frame consists of a top cap, base ring and visible vertical support running through the centre of the glass.
Designed for hallways, bedrooms, reading corners and vertical accent lighting in living rooms, the Orell provides localised wall-mounted light without the spread of a traditional shaded fitting. The 11cm projection from the wall keeps it within comfortable reach of most door frames and alcoves. The single ES bulb fitting accepts LED, halogen or filament bulbs up to 40W, giving control over light temperature and brightness depending on the room's function.
The antique brass finish shows soft brushed texture with darker antiquing in the recesses, giving a warmer tone than polished brass and pairing comfortably with walnut, oak, painted timber and stone surfaces. The smoky glass reduces glare when viewed from the side while maintaining enough transparency to see the bulb shape as part of the fitting's appearance. At 1kg the fitting mounts securely to plasterboard with standard cavity fixings or directly to masonry with screws into plugs.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Orell take?
The fitting uses a single ES (E27 Edison screw) bulb up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED between 4-8W and 2700K-3000K for ambient hallway or bedroom lighting.
Can it be used in a bathroom?
The Orell carries no IP rating and is designed for dry indoor locations only. It is not suitable for bathrooms or other moisture-prone areas unless installed outside the designated electrical zones.
How far does it project from the wall?
The fitting projects 11cm from the wall surface to the outer edge of the glass cylinder. This allows it to fit comfortably within alcoves and beside door frames without protruding into circulation space.
Is the glass replaceable if damaged?
The glass cylinder is a separate component held by the brass frame. Replacement glass may be available through Impex or specialist lighting spares suppliers, though we recommend contacting us for availability before ordering.
