Description
The Opal is a 76x76cm hexagonal wall mirror set within a grey lacquered plastic frame with stepped profiling that creates a multi-layered edge treatment. The hexagon orientation is point-up, with the stepped frame adding approximately 3.5cm of depth from the wall surface, casting subtle shadows that change with room light angles throughout the day.
Designed for hallways, bedrooms, living rooms and entryways where a geometric focal point is needed, the Opal works particularly well in contemporary and mid-century interiors where angular forms and muted tones are established themes. The 76cm width suits walls above console tables, sideboards or dressing tables, and the hexagonal aperture reflects light in six directions rather than the uniform pattern of a circular or rectangular mirror.
The grey lacquer is applied over a plastic resin base, giving a smooth, low-maintenance surface that resists fingerprints better than high-gloss finishes. At 8kg the mirror requires two wall fixings rated for the weight, and the stepped frame profile creates a floating appearance when hung with small gap between frame and wall. The grey tone sits comfortably alongside cooler palettes — greys, whites, blacks, navy — and provides neutral contrast in warmer-toned rooms without competing for attention.

Frequently Asked
How is the Opal mirror mounted?
At 8kg the mirror requires two wall fixings rated for at least 4kg each. The mirror has hanging points on the reverse. Wall plugs and screws are not included — use fixings appropriate to your wall type (plasterboard, brick, concrete).
What orientation does the hexagon hang?
The hexagon is oriented with one point facing upwards and one point facing downwards, creating a vertical axis. This is the standard orientation for the Opal design.
Can the grey lacquer be cleaned with standard glass cleaner?
Clean the mirror glass with standard glass cleaner. For the grey lacquered frame, wipe with a damp microfibre cloth only — avoid spraying glass cleaner directly onto the frame as some formulations can dull or mark lacquered plastics over time.
What wall colour works best with grey lacquer?
The grey lacquer pairs cleanly with white, off-white, light grey and darker charcoal walls. It also provides neutral contrast against warmer tones like taupe, beige or soft blush without introducing colour clash.
